Worked example · fictional supplier catalog

From a catalog record
to a useful quote request.

Keep the part, variant and selling unit together from the product page to the sales brief. Try a two-item request, or follow the filled example below.

01 / The source

A small, consistent catalog.

This is fictional Halden Supply data created by 1968 Labs. These records demonstrate a workflow; they are not approved purchasing specifications.

The same references appear in the request and its sales brief.

A part reference is stable; its public description can change after review. Units belong to the selected variant, not just the product family.

02 / Try the handoff

Prepare an example sales brief.

Use fictional details. Entries stay in this page and are cleared when you reload. The tool does not send a request or check delivery coverage.

Example quote-request details

Your requested date goes into the brief. Sales must confirm whether it can be met.

A captioned motion example using fictional Halden Supply records. Three packs of HS-W08-Z retain the 100-piece selling unit in the sales brief. It demonstrates the information flow, rather than a live submission.

Begin with an approved catalog record. HS-W08-Z is a fictional zinc-finish M8 washer sold in packs of 100. Keep its part number and variant visible as the buyer chooses three packs. Add two boxes of HS-B08-25-Z, with 50 pieces in each box. The example sales brief retains both references: 300 washer pieces and 100 bolt pieces. Delivery ZIP code 60607 and a requested date travel with the request. A real salesperson still confirms the specification, price, stock and timing. This is a simulated handoff, not a submitted order.
